Marc Foster

Marc Foster is a writer, businessperson, and activist whose short fiction has appeared in South Carolina Review, Santa Clara Review, and Hunger Mountain. He has studied fiction with acclaimed authors including Tom Perrotta, Jenna Blum, Pamela Painter, Steve Almond, and Keith Lee Morris, and is a graduate of GrubStreet’s year-long Novel Incubator program, a year-long MFA-level intensive.

Beyond writing, Marc operates Geodesic Bioventures, LLC, a venture consulting firm that works at the intersection of technology and biotech. His dedication to non-profit work has evolved over the years, shifting from literary and youth-focused initiatives to political activism. He currently works closely with Force Multiplier, a grassroots organization that raises funds for U.S. House and Senate races, as well as voter empowerment efforts that support those candidates. In addition to fundraising, Marc has engaged swing district voters in Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Georgia, and regularly recruits others to join him in these efforts.

As a founding board member of GrubStreet, Marc played a key role in shaping it into the premier non-profit writing center in New England and a nationally recognized model. He co-founded the Memoir Project, a partnership between GrubStreet and the City of Boston that empowered seniors to tell their stories through writing. Marc subsequently served on the board of 826 Boston, the youth-focused writing non-profit originally founded by Dave Eggers, for more than a decade.

Marc continues to balance his passions for fiction, innovation, and civic engagement, seeking ways to make a meaningful impact in literary and political landscapes.
